01Who we are and what this covers
Doometrix is a trade name of Stoxtox LLC, a limited liability company based in New Jersey, USA. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Stoxtox LLC. “You” means the person or company placing the order.
These terms apply to every quote we issue and every order we accept, for parts we make in our own shop and parts made for you by a partner shop. They also apply to any design or modelling work we do for you.
02Quotes
A quote is valid for 30 days from the date on it, unless it says otherwise.
We price from the files, drawings and details you give us. If those change after we quote, including a new revision of the model, a tighter tolerance, a different material or a new quantity, the price and lead time may change. We'll send a revised quote before doing any work at the new price.
Instant quotes on this site are estimates until a person has reviewed the files. If the review changes the price, we tell you before the order goes ahead.
03Orders and acceptance
An order is confirmed when either of these happens:
- you approve a quote in writing, by email or through this site, or
- you send a purchase order that references our quote and we acknowledge it.
We confirm the lead time in writing when we accept an order. Lead times are counted in business days from that confirmation, or from receipt of payment if payment is due up front.
If your purchase order includes its own terms, these terms take priority unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, signed or emailed by us.
04Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars. Shipping and any applicable sales tax are added to the invoice. If you are tax-exempt or buying for resale, send the certificate before we invoice.
Invoices are sent by email through Stripe and can be paid by card or ACH bank transfer. Payment is due on receipt, unless we have approved your business for Net 30 terms, in which case payment is due 30 days from the invoice date.
If a balance is overdue, we may pause work on open orders until it is paid. Balances more than 30 days past due may accrue interest at 1.5% per month, or the highest rate the law allows if that is lower. You agree to cover reasonable costs of collecting overdue amounts.
05Your files, your design, your responsibility
You own your designs. Sending us a file does not transfer any rights in it to us, and we don't claim any.
By sending a file you confirm that you have the right to have it manufactured. You agree to cover our costs if someone else makes a claim against us because a part we made to your file infringes their rights.
We make parts to your file and drawing. You are responsible for whether the design is fit for its purpose: its strength, material choice, clearances, and how it performs in your product. We will point out problems we notice during review, but that review is not an engineering sign-off.
06Tolerances and quality
Unless we agree a different tolerance in writing on the quote or order, parts are made to the tolerances in our published design guide. For in-house printed parts that is ±0.2 mm typical on features under 100 mm.
Printed parts have visible layer lines, small support marks and properties that vary with direction. These are normal features of the process and are not defects unless the quote says otherwise.
For production runs, we inspect a first article before making the rest. Where your drawing marks critical features, we check those dimensions before shipping.
07Shipping and risk
We ship from New Jersey by UPS or FedEx Ground unless you ask for something faster, which is billed at cost. Tracking details are sent by email.
Risk of loss passes to you when the parts are handed to the carrier. If a shipment is lost or arrives damaged, tell us and we'll help you file the claim with the carrier. We can add declared-value insurance on request, at cost.
Lead times are our honest estimate. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, partner shops, supply shortages, or events outside our reasonable control, but we will tell you as soon as we know a date will slip.
08Inspection and claims
Please inspect parts when they arrive. If something is wrong, tell us in writing within 10 days of delivery, with the order number, a description and photos. Parts not reported within that window are treated as accepted.
If a part does not match the agreed file, drawing, material or tolerance, we will remake it or refund what you paid for it. We decide which after looking at the problem with you. We may ask for the part back first; if so, we pay the return shipping.
09Warranty
We warrant that parts, at delivery, match the agreed file, drawing, material and tolerance. Remake or refund under section 8 is the remedy for a breach of that warranty.
That is the only warranty we give. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
10Limits on liability
Our total liability for any order, however it arises, is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as lost profits, line downtime, the cost of substitute parts, or damage to other equipment, even if we were told they were possible.
These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them to be limited.
11Uses we don't support
Unless we have specifically agreed in writing, our parts are not intended for use:
- as medical implants or in devices that sustain or support life,
- as flight-critical parts in aircraft or spacecraft, or
- in any application where failure could cause serious injury or death.
If you use parts that way without our written agreement, you do so at your own risk.
12Confidentiality
We treat your files, drawings and project details as confidential. We use them only to quote and make your order. We don't share them, except with a partner shop that is making your part, under a confidentiality agreement. We don't show your parts as samples or post them anywhere without your permission.
We'll sign a mutual NDA before you send files if you need one. Where an NDA exists, it applies alongside these terms, and it wins if the two conflict on confidentiality. We delete your files on request; see the privacy policy for details.
13Changes and cancellation
You can cancel or change an order free of charge until production starts. We'll tell you when that is.
After production starts, you pay for work already done and material already used, and for any costs a partner shop charges us for the cancelled work. We refund anything you paid beyond that.
Custom parts can't be returned for a refund unless they are nonconforming under section 8.
14Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and both parties agree to their jurisdiction.
Before going to court, we both agree to try to settle the matter by talking to each other first.
15The rest
These terms, together with the quote and any written agreement we sign with you, are the whole agreement for an order. If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you place an order is the one that applies to it.
